Lactobacillus helveticus

Lactobacillus helveticus is not particularly gastro-resistant, and only a small proportion of the bacteria ingested arrive alive in the intestine. For certain effects, particularly on the immune system, this is not important. Immune cells already react to the presence of bacterial envelopes, even when the bacteria are no longer alive.
