N-acetylcysteine (Cysteine)

N-acetylcysteine, or NAC, is the acetylated form of the amino acid cysteine. It stimulates the production of glutathione, an antioxidant amino acid, and breaks down the disulfide bonds in mucus, making it easier to cough up.
