N-acetyl-cysteine (Cysteine)

N-aceryl-cysteine or NAC is the acetylated form of the amino acid cysteine. It stimulates the production of glutathione, an antioxidant amino acid, and breaks the disulphide bridges in mucus, making it easier to expectorate.
