Maca (Lepidium meyenii)

Lepidium meyenii is an adaptogenic plant that grows in the Andes at an altitude of 4,000–5,000 meters. Its naturally occurring active compounds (alkaloids, macaridine, macamides, macaene, glucosinolates) have structures similar to sex hormones and are believed to act as hypothalamic regulators and modulators of prolactin, LH, FSH, and HCG secretion, and are thought to stimulate testosterone, among other effects.
