Yellow maca root (Lepidium meyenii)

Lepidium meyenii is an adaptogenic plant that grows in the Andes Mountains at 4000-5000 meters of altitude. Its active substances (alkaloids, macaridine, macamides, macaene, glucosinolates) have structures close to the sex hormones and are said to be hypothalamic regulators, modulators of the secretions of prolactione, LH, FSH and HCG. They are also said to stimulate, among others, testosterone.
