Lithothamnion (Lithothamnium calcareum)

Lithothamnion is a small red algae, just a few centimeters in size, that grows in clusters and has the unique ability to crystallize various minerals found in the sea. It resembles a type of coral that is very rich in trace elements, particularly calcium, which gives it its remineralizing and alkalizing properties.
